Spine Surgery :
Stephen Timon, M.D. spinal surgery specialist, has been performing minimally-invasive spinal surgery and complex spinal surgery in North Texas since 2003. Dr. Timon came to Texas after completing a residency in orthopaedic surgery at UCLA School of Medicine and a fellowship in spinal surgery at the prestigious Hospital for Special Surgery at Cornell University. During his fellowship at Cornell, Dr. Timon trained under one of the premier scoliosis surgeons in the world. Dr. Timon also was trained in minimally invasive procedures during his fellowship.
The greatest benefit of minimally-invasive procedures is obvious -- they're less invasive. Less invasion reduces the risk of trauma and morbidity. Smaller incisions also mean reduced trauma to the back muscles, shorter hospital stays, less post-operative pain and faster recovery.

Along with minimally-invasive discectomies, Dr. Timon performs minimally-invasive fusion procedures and offers comprehensive spine care including treatment of complex cervical conditions, spine deformity in adults and children, total disc replacement and degenerative conditions of the spine.
"Certain conditions are best treated by minimally invasive techniques, while others require a more traditional open technique." says Dr. Timon, "It is
important to tailor the surgery to the patient's needs and not tailor the patient's needs to the surgery."
